Showtimes & Streaming Data - Updating Process and Frequency

usheru collects showtime information from various sources, mainly through purchasing aggregated data from multiple providers. As such, we work with those data providers to ensure high quality data in a timely manner for our partners

How often are showtimes updated?

  • Fresh showtimes data is imported every 8 hours (7 AM, 3 PM, and 11 PM UTC). This process can take up to 4 hours, depending on the amount of data.

Why might showtimes be missing?

  • Delayed updates: If a showtime is recently added to a cinema’s website, it might not appear immediately on the usheru Select widget or on your usheru Connect platform. It will be included in the next data update.
  • Rare technical issue for our Data Providers: this can occur, and we have asked our data providers to provide a solution to alert us if they are experiencing any technical issue – as such, we can pass that information on to our partners

What to do if you notice showtimes are missing?

While we do our best to ensure up to date and accurate showtime information, it’s important to note that showtimes will not appear in “real time” and new showtime data is imported every 8 hours. If you notice missing showtimes there are a few steps you can take:

Step 1: You can run a manual import of showtimes for a specific film using the “Download Showtime Data” button on the usheru dashboard. If any showtimes have been picked up by our provider but not yet imported into the usheru database, this import will download this data and it will show up in your showtimes module on your website.

However, if you use the manual import button and you see few or even no new showtimes, that means that the latest showtimes are not yet available in our api and should be picked up by our provider in the next cycle.

Step 2: If the next data aggregation cycle passes and these showtimes are still missing please file a ticket by contacting clientsupport@usheru.com. We can then investigate and if necessary alert our provider to ensure these showtimes are imported promptly.

How to help us ensure the most accurate showtime data?

To improve showtime accuracy, please provide the following for each film as far in advance of your films release as possible:

  • Release date
  • List of confirmed cinemas (including all screenings, like previews and special events)
  • Estimated time when major chains will start showing the film

Streaming

usheru gets streaming and VOD availability information from a combination of primary data providers and direct connections to streaming platforms.

  • Most platforms: Streaming links are updated weekly, usually on Thursdays.
  • Major platforms: Streaming data is updated daily.
Need a streaming link added quickly?

You can manually add streaming links to the usheru dashboard by clicking “Create Streaming Link” in the Streaming section.

To ensure these links appear once the cache expires, search for the film in the dashboard > Edit > Locations and ensure streaming is set to “ON” for the country you have added a streaming link for. If this location does not exist you can easily create it.
